GoPro Hero 3 Black - Covered Parking Test.

This is a short test of the GoPro Hero 3 Black in a covered parking lot. Video quality is great, it is set to record 1080p@25fps Medium field of view.
Camera paired with GoPro Apps for android and its great. This camera is set to do cycle recording at 5 minutes with individual 1 minute clips. To save file hit te shutter button to stop recording and to start the next batch of 5 minutes hit it again.

Getting Clearer "Idiots On The Road" Videos

I had a Gopro Hero 3 Black for a while now and it's mainly use for the bike, a bit under use so decided to buy this frame and mount it in the car to give better video since I already have it then why not.

Gopro do not turn on automatically with power cable like all evidence cam does, it is manually switched ON for it to work. One feature that the gopro has is the cycle record, what it does is cycle record over and over again within the time that we specify. Example if I choose 5 minutes cycle it will write individual 1 minute video and will over write the first of the five video as the time goes and so on.

If there any incident happen, just hit the shutter button and the 5 clips will be saved, hit the shutter button again it will then do another batch of 5 clips cycle on an on. This cycle record is possible to have at various time or just to max of the card.

Mounted it on the windscreen with one of the sticky adapter and set it to 1080p Medium field of view, the wide field of view is just too much for the car. I still have the G1W mounted on the side and it just share the same mini usb cable when needed.

This is how it looks on the outside, very noticeable. Well Gopro never designed it to be discrete just has to remove it when it is not needed, it is an expensive piece of hardware so it is best not to leave it in the car.

I will use the G1W most of the time and the Gopro for certain occasion that when I need to get a clearer video of the drive.

Use the dedicated GoPro Apps for android to control, view and change setting of the camera.

To all bikers out there, do be care full, this stretch of road could be dangerous, think of your family and love ones.

Just a reminder the link here, was a grime accident happen over this stretch about 1 or 2 km down the road. We have to literally search for body parts.

Got this G1W car DVR as evidence recorder at the same time making those Idiots On The Road videos to educate general public of road ethic.

Nice little camera, I need to try under low light condition. My previous camera already not working properly after being left in the car for few weeks. The heat probably killed it.

Watch the grey car on the left, he/she is going straight on a round about. His/her action cutting across the lane is dangerous and could cause a collision. He/She should have stayed on their lane and just take the round about and exit straight.

The White car is on the left, up ahead is a "T" junction and he made a right turn on the left turn lane. This could cause the driver on the right to not aware of the intention or could cause the driver to apply brakes and rear-ended by another.

Sony ICD AX412F Coin Test

This is a Sony ICD-AX412F Solid State Stereo Recorder.

This recorder has 2GB of in build memory and able to  accept external micro sd of 32 mb. It has a build in FM radio and uses 2 AAA battery that will last ages.
The down side of this recorder is it do not have a back light for the screen, making it difficult to see the menu to enable the FM radio. As a recorder it is superb in audio quality and I uses this for interviews and video audio capture.

Behringer C1 Studio Condenser Microphone Coin Test

Got myself this C1 Mic and checking its audio quality by recording the simple coin test.

Nice low cost mic for home recording, Behringer has made it affordable for everyone to make their home recording studio

ACT20 HD Bullet Cam Revisited

This cam was bought few years back and it was not really put to use. Initially was purchased for making bike video and ended not use much since I already have a better action cam. Not wanting it to go to waste, I wired it up as a car evidence recorder.

It's a nicely designed camera with slick body as bullet shaped ideal for action camera. But its video recording quality is not as good, night time recording is even worst. The newer camera from same manufacturer has improve. This particular camera has 60 degrees field of view and compared to current design which has 120 degrees.

I leave the camera permanently in the car, if needed I will hooked up the mobile Android phone with OTG cable to download or make changes to its configuration files.

You can also use most android phones that has the OTG capability to playback this camera files, you need to install VLC Player in order to play the avi files stored in the camera.

Camera will record 2gb segment at a time, I programmed this to record as the ciggy socket powered and do continuous loop recording overwrite the older files.
