Merapu Run - Krabi on a Vespa
Going for a ride to Krabi via Dannok. Then to Songkhla and Betong before heading back to Kuala Lumpur. This solo trip I’m doing on a Vespa because I want to blend in with the locals.
Andaman gateway, there many elephant statues and models.
Stop over on the roadside between Phattalung and Trang, just before the Andaman Gateway.
Another bikers group heading to Krabi, met them in Dannok during breakfast.
Another shot of the Andaman Gateway, has to get the Vespa in frame.
Cute tall ladyboy :)
Main prayer hall, made it for Isha prayer.
Reach the Thai boarder at about quarter past four, the immigration process is quite a breeze due to not many people around. Custom too was quick.
2nd day I departed from Dannok at 8:30 am with first stop at Patthalong, then I continue to Krabi Ao Nang Beach. It was hot, I had to stop to rest and drink a lot of water to be safe. Reach Ao Nang around 5 pm and check in to J Mansion.
I stayed in Ao Nang for 2 nites, not much activities due to raining on the second day. Just sight seeing around the tourist strip and beaches.
Ao Nang to Songkhla, started at 8:15 am reach Sonkhla at about 6:30 local. Travel via Thale Noi then onwards to Songkhla. Heavy rain on route has to stop for almost 2 hours before its safe to continue.
Its already dark when I reach Songkhla and raining, so didn’t go anywhere much.
Songkhla to Betong is about 250 kilometers, this route is frequent by bikers. The roads at Bang Lang is great, the last time we was there roadworks was in progress.
Betong to Shah Alam about 385 km non stop drive will takes about 6 hours. Depart at 8:30 am local time and reaches home at 6:45 pm.
The photos are not in any sequence. Ao Nang mosque in the background.

Ao Nang mosque, the last time I was there during Friday prayers sometimes ago. That time it was not fully completed. This mosque looks great with main prayer hall on the 1st floor, the ladies hall on ground floor.
